Hours: Storeroom Supervisor, Materials Management, 40 Hours, Days

 

Job Summary:

Coordinates key daily operational functions of the primary hospital inventory and distribution location, to include supply ordering and replenishment. Responsible for administrative functions to support the inventory and patient charge system, such as data entry, reporting, file maintenance, and filing. Supports Inventory Control initiatives by auditing and analysis of internal supply chain, staff and inventory system user training, and development of departmental procedures and protocols.  Manages staff scheduling and payroll timecards into the system.

Coordinates a broad range of activities to assist in the development, implementation and delivery associated with supply management services. Contributes to the development, communication and enforcement of operational policies and procedures for the unit and provides the same to front line staff. Support employee programs to create and implement training programs and employee programs designed to enhance staff performance and skill sets. Works closely with management team in Materials Management and clinical and hospital administration to create and implement quality assurance programs and to deliver state of the art service levels.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

 

  • Maintains Storeroom Inventory; Managing Stock-outs, backorder and product changes / conversions
  • Review/modify min/max inventory levels
  • Develops systems that optimize workflow and meets / exceeds customer needs.
  • Advises Manager of inventory issues; stock-outs, backorders, over/short shipments and communicates to the proper distributors and purchasing teams.
  • Reviews replenishment daily. Ensures requested quantities are accurate and follows up on outstanding orders as appropriate.
  • Communicates any adjustments (adds, deletions, increases or returns) to the Manager prior to changes.
  • Participates in routine cycle counts and annual physical inventory for the centralized warehouse.
  • Conducting analysis to eliminate continuing issues
  • Facilitates ordering of replenishment stock and re-shelving supplies in appropriate locations. Checks and rotates all dated supplies in order to minimize waste and to ensure product integrity.
  • Interacts with staff at all levels on a routine basis. Researches and resolves all customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required
  • Assuring that all necessary information pertaining to inventory issuance and returns is accurately entered into the MMIS (Meditech). Calculating unit of measure conversion rates
  • Reviews and logs recalled / expired products in the storeroom and adjusts inventory accordingly & removes affected product from shelf
  • Understands and utilizes the Meditech Computer System
  • Generates inventory reports correctly and as scheduled to ensure stock replenishment

Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands). Frequently stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist).

Qualifications

Job Requirements
 
Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • .  A.S. in Business or higher degree, preferred.  Educational requirements may be waived based on extent of experience
Minimum Work Experience
  • Prior experience in inventory management. preference given to applicants who have prior hospital inventory experience
  • Prior supervisor experience 2-4 years preferred
  • Preference given to those with Meditech Materials Management experience.
Required Skills
  • Computer literacy required, with Microsoft office and Google Workspace
  • Must be able to communicate, orally and written; must be able to work effectively with various and diversified people, including vendors, department managers, management and co-workers. Excellent customer service skills.
