Job Summary:

The Hospital Manager of Materials Management will directly report to the Vice President of Operations. They will lead a skilled team while overseeing the Materials department. They will be responsible for the supervision of purchasing, inventory, and supplies distribution. They will be overseeing the receiving and distribution of all materials including mail services. The Manager will be responsible for serving as a role model, initiator in problem-solving, decision-making processes, delegating, and communicating information to materials department team. They will also will develop clear performance expectations and resolve performance problems. In addition to these aspects, the Manager will also help develop and maintain the departmental budget, as well as regulatory compliance. Your functions include inventory management, vendor relationship management, and managing supply expense. You will integrate the department’s services with the hospital’s primary functions, develop/implement policies and procedures that guide or support services, assess and improve department performance, and ensure orientation and continuing education of departmental staff.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Manages daily activities of all functions involved in the purchasing and planning including expediting and stocking levels (min/max). Manages inventory and establishes controls to ensure the business is operating at the highest level of performance based on key performance metrics and minimized supply chain risk.
  • Directs the daily operations for materials distribution functions in Hospital, including receiving, purchasing, distribution and warehousing
  • Works closely with the accounts payable department and vendors to resolve any invoice discrepancies timely and
    efficiently
  • Works with VP of Operations to develop and administer inventory control policies and procedures focusing on
    industry best practice
  • Manage the profit and loss of the facility Supply Chain operations
  • Oversees routine cycle counts and annual physical inventory for the centralized warehouse
  • Participate in monthly Value Analysis, as well as all specific sub-committees for supply chain with a focus on driving down costs and enhancing LEAN practices
  • Facilitate the standardization of products and optimize supply utilization through effective collaboration with physicians and clinicians
  • Coordinate contracts review and execution while managing vendor business reviews and KPIs as required
  • Review contracts for terms, changes and/or enhancements. Interacts with administration on contract language and terms in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Lead the development, implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives across the company’s product portfolio to simplify processes, eliminate waste, improve cost efficiencies, and improve customer experience
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.  Preference given A.S. in Business or higher degree.  Educational requirements may be waived based on extent of experience. 

Minimum Work Experience

  • Prior experience Prior experience in healthcare supply chain required. Preference given to applicants who have minimum 2-5 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Experience managing group purchasing organization contracts.

    Computer literacy required
  • Preference given to those with Meditech experience as well as Microsoft office suite of products.
