ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Lead Quality Assurance Initiatives: Coordinate and oversee QA activities across all laboratory departments to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Review Plan and drive continuous quality improvement.
- Manage QA Committee Documentation: Maintain accurate records of QA committee meetings, findings, and reports in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct and Review Quality Audits: Perform quality system audits, evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions, and lead root cause analyses (RCA) to identify, address, and prevent quality issues.
- Oversee Proficiency Testing (PT): Conduct initial reviews of PT results, collaborate with supervisors to implement corrective actions for unsatisfactory outcomes, and document resolutions.
- Track Incidents and Complaints: Monitor and analyze incident reports and patient complaints to identify trends and areas for improvement, and support appropriate resolution measures.
- Ensure POCT Compliance and Training: Monitor point-of-care testing sites for regulatory adherence, conduct audits on competency, QC, and maintenance, and provide staff training on proper POCT procedures.
- Analyze and Report Quality Metrics: Collect, track, and report laboratory performance indicators such as turnaround times, rejected specimens, order entry errors, and LIS performance to support data-driven improvements.
- Support Safety and Compliance Programs: Participate in initiatives that uphold laboratory safety and infection control standards, and contribute to regulatory readiness and accreditation processes.
- Collaborate on Special Projects and Leadership Goals: Assist with QA and POCT initiatives assigned by laboratory leadership, including system evaluations, data analysis, and implementation of strategic quality objectives.
- Perform Additional Duties as Assigned: Execute other tasks or responsibilities as delegated by the laboratory manager or director to support operational and quality goals.
