Hours: 40-Hours, Day/Evening, 12:00pm - 8:30pm, Monday - Friday, Holiday rotation

 

$18.50 - $23.00

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Conducts interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner.
  • Goes out of his/her way to offer assistance to others. If he/she cannot offer assistance, then finds someone who can.
  • Advocates to ensure privacy and confidentiality while helping others to maintain awareness.
  • Maintains a clean and safe hospital.
  • Responds appropriately and immediately in emergency situations.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort, and minimize risk and injury.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure.
  • Complies with the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
  • Completed all Hospital and Department Specific Mandatory requirements in the prior calendar year.
  • Reports Incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Works together with departmental and healthcare teams to complete assignments.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform project work safely, using appropriate chemicals and proper techniques.
  • Communicates specific cleaning needs to supervisor by the end of the scheduled shift.
  • Completes tasks thoroughly and in designated timeframe.
  • Removes or arranges for removal of safety hazards from environment immediately to prevent potential safety hazards from occurring.
  • Keeps equipment in clean and working condition.
  • Maintains the courier schedule so that internal deliveries and pick ups are made on time to the correct location (i.e. mail, bank deposits, supplies, and specimens).
  • Ensures supplies are collected from the holding area and delivered on schedule and to the correct location.
  • Independently arranges and rearranges schedule so that all needed work is completed by the end of the day.
  • Adapts to added responsibility and changes to the daily routine.
  • Maintains the courier vehicle so that it is free of mechanical and equipment defects and has a clean and professional appearance.
  • Reports unfinished work to the supervisor at the end of the shift so the supervisor is aware of any outstanding tasks and/or problems with delivering items.
  • Maintains effective communication with Hospital Departments, supervisors and all courier service customers.

Physical Requirements

Exerts 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequently reaches (extending hands and arms in any direction), and handles (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or working with hands). Frequently stoops (bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist).

Qualifications

Job Requirements

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Must, after brief training, be able to demonstrate the correct use of chemicals, supplies, and tools. 
  • Must be able to pass test of skill and mechanical aptitude to detect equipment malfunctions for safety to others

Required Skills

  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to provide a good driving record and proof of insurability. 
  • Knowledge of hospital community helpful.

Required Licenses

  • Driver's license required with 3 to 5 years experience

Minimum Work Experience

  • Previous healthcare cleaning experience preferred
