Job Summary:
The Central Sterile Manager must be able to perform all the duties of a CST II and meet or exceed Heywood Healthcare /Perioperative Services and industry standards as set forth by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM). The manager serves as the leader and primary clinical resource for all of Central Sterile Processing Department’s services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: ensuring complete and accurate coordination of case cart assembly for all Operating Room cases, assuring uninterrupted daily supply of complete case carts, assuring adequate necessary supplies and order as needed, providing education to staff in accurate assembly of necessary instruments, assuring that central sterile quality practices are maintained as set forth by the professional and accrediting organizations. The Central Sterile Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and overseeing adherence to the quality standards, policies and procedures based on the recommendations of professional and accrediting organizations. Additionally, Central Sterile Manager is responsible for making schedule and ensuring adequate staffing of the department. This position is a working manager and will require on call as needed.
High school graduate with secondary training in central sterile processing.
Minimum Certification
Certification as Central Sterile Technician is required.
